Vero expands presence to Hanoi
Vero, the communications consultancy in Southeast Asia, appoints senior leaders Ms. Le Diem and Ms. Hoai Anh Pham to spearhead the agency’s expansion efforts in Hanoi.
Establishing a more substantial presence in the Vietnamese capital city will help serve the agency’s growing number of local and international clients and improve its public relations, influence, government relations, and strategic communications capabilities in Vietnam.
Ms. Le Diem, who took up her post of Vietnam Director for the agency’s government relations arm, Vero Advocacy, brings over 15 years of experience in public policy advocacy across Vietnam’s ICT, digital economy, financial services, and e-commerce sectors. Her expertise encompasses engagement with various levels of government, including the Ministry of Information and Communications, Ministry of Industry and Trade and the National Assembly. Additionally, she holds strong relationships with leading think tanks and research institutes in the country, which have proven invaluable in navigating the dynamic and intricate policy and industry landscape of the Vietnamese market.
Ms. Hoai Anh Pham has been with Vero since 2020 and moved up from Strategic Planner to Regional Strategy Planning Manager in just two years, demonstrating her expertise in developing brand strategies and deep understanding of Vietnam’s business and consumer landscape. With her new role as Head of Client Solutions, Ms. Pham will be instrumental in helping our partner brands and organizations further cement their presence in the Vietnamese market.
Vero’s first office in Vietnam opened in Ho Chi Minh City in 2008 under a local partnership and took over full ownership of local operations in 2019. Since then, the agency’s presence in the South has grown to close to 60 people, serving international and local industry-leading brands and winning international accolades.
In 2023, the Vero team in Ho Chi Minh City was awarded Best Mid-Size Consultancy in Asia Pacific.
“Hanoi is a strategic base for Vero to solidify its government relations and public policy capabilities. As brands and businesses continue to navigate the complex regulatory landscape, having a dedicated team in Hanoi allows us to effectively advocate for our clients’ interests at the political center and stay abreast of policy developments”, said Ms. Le.
“Advocacy work has become an increasingly important part of our business. We help brands and organizations engage with their stakeholders and foster social change. As Hanoi becomes a central hub for these crucial discussions, we are excited to establish our presence here and empower organizations with integrated communications services”, said Ms. Pham.
In May 2024, Vero was recognized by Global Environmental Social and Governance performance certification body B Corp, as the largest Southeast Asian agency to uphold its governance and operational standards, across the agency’s five offices in the region.
“As a B Corp Certified business, our goal is to do good work and work that does good, as an organization and as a communication advisor to our clients. By expanding our team in Hanoi, we are accelerating our access to key policymakers and our influence through advocacy work”, said Hong Phuc Ngo, Vero’s Senior VP for Strategy and Client Services in Vietnam.
These appointments complement the strong growth the Vietnam operation has been experiencing in the first quarter of the year (up 55% compared to Q1’23) and the positive momentum of its Government Relations Practice.
